This page is a plain-English summary of how our dumpster rentals work. Your order confirmation is the controlling document for your specific rental. If anything here conflicts with your confirmation, the confirmation wins. Call (313) 444-8442 if you want something explained before you book.

What the flat rate includes

Every rental price on this site is all-inclusive: one-time delivery, pickup at the end of your rental, a set disposal weight allowance, and the agreed rental period. You are not billed separately for fuel, drop-off or a base dump fee.

The concrete and heavy-debris container is a flat 3-day rate only. Extra rental days on the standard sizes are priced as shown above and billed if you extend past your original pickup date.

Weight allowance and overage

Each size includes a set disposal weight allowance (see the table above). Your loaded dumpster is weighed at the disposal facility before and after it is emptied, on scales certified and regulated by the state bureau of weights and measures. If your load comes in over your included tonnage, the additional weight is billed at $75/ton, passed through at the rate we are charged by the facility. Department of Transportation regulations limit any roll-off dumpster to approximately 15 tons on the road, which is the hard ceiling regardless of size or rental type.

What can’t go in the dumpster

Hazardous waste is prohibited in every dumpster we deliver. That includes:

• Chemical products, herbicides and pesticides
• Solvents, flammable liquids and gasoline
• Propane tanks
• Motor oil, transmission oil and antifreeze
• Petroleum-contaminated soil
• Lead paint chips
• Asbestos
• Medical waste
• Radioactive material
• Microwaves and fluorescent tubes
• Animals

Tell us what you plan to use the dumpster for before you book. We will tell you if anything on your list is prohibited.

Items allowed with a per-item fee

The following items are accepted but may carry an additional per-item disposal fee charged at the facility, on top of your flat rate:

• Mattresses
• Tires
• Appliances containing freon
• Large electronics

Placement and driveway protection

You tell us where you want the dumpster, driveway, side yard or jobsite, and mark the spot if you will not be home. Our driver places boards under the rails where needed and rolls the container into position carefully to avoid damage to your property. If the marked spot looks unsafe or unreachable when the driver arrives, we will call before placing it anywhere else.

Rental period and extensions

Your rental period is whatever you agreed to at booking, typically one to three days, priced upfront. If you need it longer, call before your scheduled pickup date and we will extend it. When you are finished early, request a pickup date and time and we will come get it, often the same day you call.

No lid, so plan for weather

Every dumpster is open-top with a hinged rear door for walk-in loading. There is no lid or cover included. If rain could soak drywall or other material, or if your debris is light enough to blow out, throw a tarp over the load yourself.
